Volunteering Overview
Why Volunteer?
When parents, guardians, grandparents, other family members, and community members volunteer, it plays an important role in the success of Cambridge Lakes Charter School. Students benefit when there is active volunteer participation by family and community members.
Parent/Guardian Volunteers
Parents/Guardians are not required to volunteer as a condition of admission, continued enrollment, or participation in the school's educational activities. We encourage parents/guardians to continue their support by being active participants in their child's education.
We acknowledge those family and community members who participate in school events, volunteer their time at school, and other enrichment activities provided by the school. We will continue to end our school year with a Volunteer of the Year award to celebrate family and community members who shared their time and engaged in school events to support the students.
Volunteer Process
The safety of the students, staff, and volunteers is a primary focus of our environment. We ask that all volunteers complete the fingerprint/background check process through the Main Office by contacting Mrs. Lopez at 847-648-9700 or ylopez@clcsstaff.org.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are many volunteer opportunities during school hours, after school, or during the weekend. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Book Fair
- Library
- Field Trips
- Lunch
Other opportunities include helping in the school office, chaperoning a field trip or dance, assisting with morning student drop-off/afternoon student pick-up, and other school events and activities throughout the year.
